ABOUT
Can’t Stop Cryin’ for America: Black Lives Matter! is a powerful suite composed by Jon Jang in collaboration with poet-performer Dr. Amanda Kemp that honors Black lives lost to police violence, with movements dedicated to Michael Brown, the victims of the Emanuel AME Church shooting, and Mario Woods. Blending spoken word, spirituals, and jazz traditions, the pieces both tribute and protest, rooting audiences in resistance against the systemic injustices in America.
