Supporting the creation of new works that engage community-wide audiences, innovate across disciplines, and orient past, present, and future towards collective liberation.

CO-COMMISSIONING

AIR works with partner organizations to fund the creation of new works by artists

rooted in their communities and making waves in their respective fields.

Our co-commissioning program provides AIR artists with the financial resources needed to realize creative projects that are timely, poignant, and relevant - sharing their vital voices and those of their communities with audiences across the nation on issues that affect us all. Indeed, within all movements for social change, art has played a central, nourishing role. By partnering with institutions, individuals, and presenters throughout the US, our goal is to provide financial and production support for each co-commissioned project with a focus on amplifying marginalized voices including those of women, LGBTQ+, and other under-resourced groups.

If you, or your organization, are interested in supporting our co-commissioning program and artists, please contact us.
