HOLDING HALF THE SKY
ABOUT
Holding Half the Sky 頂半邊天 is a photo exhibit and installation honoring the 50th anniversary of the groundbreaking strike led by 135 Asian immigrant garment workers in San Francisco. The strike spanned nearly a year of picketing with multiple arrests and forever shifted the perception of Asian women in labor. Shown at City College's Chinatown Campus, next door to the former Jung Sai Garment Factory, the exhibit shows San Francisco’s labor movement as seen through the lens of Asian immigrant women, a testament to the prowess of women workers worldwide.
