HOME IS NOW(HERE) | NHÀ Ở ĐÂU, NHÀ Ở ĐÂY

Được tổ chức bởi Liên hoan Hoa Kỳ - Châu Á (United States of Asian America Festival), REALSOUL và jhn//hands&feet, chương trình mang đặc sắc 3 tác phẩm biểu diễn mới đến từ các nghệ sĩ gốc Việt đương đại ưu tú, cùng với buổi ra mắt tập san (zine)  phản ánh về bản sắc, gia đình và quê hương nhân dịp kỷ niệm 50 năm kết thúc chiến tranh ở Việt Nam.

Tự chọn mức vé đóng góp: $0-$15 khuyến nghị bao gồm thức ăn nhẹ. Khán giả giới hạn 80 người. Tập san (song ngữ Anh-Việt) phát miễn phí cho đến khi hết. 

Cung cấp hỗ trợ ngôn ngữ thông dịch ASL (Ngôn ngữ ký hiệu Mỹ) và tiếng Việt.

CHƯƠNG TRÌNH

• Thưa Rau Má" (Thơ)- Trinh Lê (Đề cử giải Pushcart Prize 2025) - màn trình diễn đa nghệ thuật xoay quanh chuỗi thơ và những lá thư kể lại giấc mơ, nơi tác giả gặp gỡ tổ tiên và những người thầy cũ sau khi uống nước rau má.

• CHÁY (Múa) - Johnny Huy Nguyễn (Đoạt giải Isadora Duncan 2022) - biên đạo múa thử nghiệm đối mặt với di tích chiến tranh, di cư bất đắc dĩ và bạo lực gia đình trong cơ thể; giải tỏa để hướng tới sự chữa lành và biến vết thương cũ thành tro bụi cho sự tái sinh. 

• Lần Đầu Tiên Về Nhà (Âm nhạc) - Trúc Nguyễn (AIR Fellow 2024/25) -màn trình diễn kết hợp phát thanh, băng ghi âm phỏng vấn, nhạc phổ và kể chuyện để tái hiện hành trình đôi khi phi thường, đôi khi đau lòng, những câu chuyện đầy cảm xúc của cha mẹ nghệ sĩ khi vượt biên từ Việt Nam.

  
  

• Giao Lưu Hậu Trường- khán giả có cơ hội kết nối và thảo luận về các tác phẩm và thưởng thức đồ ăn.

Presented by the United States of Asian America Festival, REALSOUL, and jhn//hands&feet, the program will feature 3 new performance works by acclaimed contemporary Vietnamese artists and a zine launch reflecting on relationships to identity, family, and home in the wake of the 50th anniversary of the end of the War in Vietnam.

Admission is pay-what-you-want: $0 - $15 suggested donation with complimentary food provided. Audience capped at 80 attendees. Zines (English/Vietnamese) will be provided at no additional cost while supplies last.

Both ASL and Vietnamese interpretation will be provided.

PROGRAM:

• Dear Plant Mother (Poetry) - Trinh Lê (2025 Pushcart Prize Nominee) – a multidisciplinary performance centered around a serial poem and epistolary recounting of dreams in which the poet encounters ancestors and former teachers after consuming Vietnamese pennywort (rau má).
  

• BURN (Dance) - Johnny Huy Nguyễn (2022 Isadora Duncan Award Winner) - an experimental dance theater solo that reckons with legacies of war, forced displacement, and family violence in the body; setting them ablaze to light pathways to healing and forge old wounds into ash for new growth.

  
  

• First Time Home (Music) - Trúc Nguyễn (2024/25 AIR Fellow) – an audio-visual performance blending their mother’s past with their first time home to the motherland. Reuniting loved ones and stolen identities — it’s a storytelling experience where everything happens all at once, a reminder that what came before lives alongside us
  

• Post-Performance Community Gathering - attendees will have the opportunity to connect over food and engage in discussion and reflections.
